In this episode you’re going to learn how a negative attitude will sabotage your efforts to find hope and a reason to improve and without a reason to improve, you’ll have no reason to incorporate self-discipline your daily efforts.
In the world there’s famine, war, sickness, corruption, oppression and inequality. There are so many things going against those of us who want to be better, it’s hard to find a reason to carry on. Why even waste your time trying to get better?
Once you START thinking in a negative way, it’s incredibly hard to change. It’s like swimming upstream and deciding to rest. You’ll quickly float back downstream and find it difficult to turn and work again.
Your Subconscious Mind Will Do What You Tell It
Your subconscious mind will believe what you tell it to believe. If you say it’s not worth it because the world is going down the drain, your subconscious will not only buy into it, it would work hard to prove your right. It will never work against what you tell it. It is an advocate for what you believe.
How to Beat Negativism
First: You have to know Attitude matters in your battle to find self discipline. You also have to realize it’s 100% in your power to determine your attitude. Yes, you can tell me that others make it difficult to be positive, but I will tell you, it’s still up to you to make the decision. Sorry.
I don’t tell you this, having lived a priveledge life. I’ve been there. I’ve been through some hellacious times and I’ve felt like just laying back and resting in the horror. But I had to choose to continue. I remember times when I would say “wow, I really need a dose of my own medicine.” I even laughed about how crazy it it was that I was teaching people to strive to be better and in the midst of it all, I was struggling. But ultimately, I chose to be positive and move forward and so can you.
Call to Action
Check your attitude all day long. I want you to hear my voice in your head when negativity hits and I want you to be reminded of how you need to choose to be positive. When you choose positive over negative, you’re making a conscious decision to move forward.
